At Depo Pros, a standard deposition room in Los Angeles is $125 an hour, $450 for a half day (4 hours) or $850 for a full day (8 hours). A Large Deposition Room for up to 12 is $150, $550 or $1,050. Below: what that comes to for common deposition lengths, how the rates combine, and what else to budget for.
The rates
| Room | Per hour | Half day (4h) | Full day (8h) |

| Large Deposition Room | $150 | $550 | $1,050 |
| Client Meeting Room | $50 | $180 | $350 |
There is a 2-hour minimum and no booking fee. Water and coffee service, Wi-Fi, power at the table and a display or whiteboard come with every deposition room.
What a deposition costs by length

| 2 hours | $250 | $300 | $100 |
| 3 hours | $375 | $450 | $150 |
| 4 hours | $450 | $550 | $180 |
| 5 hours | $575 | $700 | $230 |
| 6 hours | $700 | $850 | $280 |

How the half-day and full-day rates work
You do not have to pick a package. The booking is priced every way and you pay the lowest: hourly, the half-day rate plus extra hours, or the full-day rate. Five hours in the standard room is $575 (half day plus one hour) rather than $625 hourly. Seven hours is $825, and from there the full-day rate of $850 caps the price up to 8 hours.
That means you can book the time you realistically need without paying for padding, and still get day pricing when a deposition runs long enough to deserve it.
Where in Los Angeles
The rooms are at 835 Wilshire and 611 Wilshire Downtown, 9100 Wilshire in Beverly Hills and 201 Wilshire in Santa Monica. Downtown has two buildings with a Large Deposition Room; Santa Monica has one; Beverly Hills has a standard room for up to 8. Compare them on the Los Angeles deposition rooms page, or go straight to Downtown, Beverly Hills or Santa Monica.
What else to budget for
The room is usually the smaller part of a deposition budget. Plan for:
- Court reporter. Reporters set their own rates. As a guide, the typical per-page range we publish for major markets such as California is $5.25 – $7.25, a full day often runs 250 – 400 pages, and rush delivery adds +100% – 130% for next day. Appearance fees and copies are usually extra. The reporter quotes you directly.
- Videographer, if you need a video record. Quoted and billed directly by the videographer.
- Interpreter, if the witness needs one.
- Parking for the witness and counsel, set by each building or garage.
- Extras at the location, if you need them: a witness signature is $20, service-of-process acceptance in California is $25, and package receiving is $1 per item. See extra services.
How it compares with other options
Your own conference room costs nothing extra, but you host opposing counsel and give up the room for the day. Some court-reporting agencies offer conference space as part of a reporting booking; if yours does, ask what is included, how many people it seats and what the cancellation terms are. Hotel meeting rooms and coworking day rooms can work too; ask about minimums, food and beverage requirements and Wi-Fi before you book.
Whatever you compare, compare the total for your actual day, including the caucus or prep room, not just the headline hourly rate.
Ways to keep the cost down
- Book the standard room when 8 seats (6 at 611 Wilshire) is enough; the large room is for video, multi-party matters and mediations.
- Book the length you expect; the pricing picks the cheapest combination for you.
- Add a client meeting room only for the hours you need it, such as an hour of prep before the start.
- Cancel at least 24 hours ahead if the deposition goes off calendar, for a full refund.
A sample full-day budget
Here is how the pieces add up for a typical full-day, two-party deposition in a standard room, with an hour of witness prep beforehand. The room lines are Depo Pros prices; everything else is quoted by the provider.
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Deposition Room, full day (8 hours) | $850 |
| Client Meeting Room, 2 hours for prep | $100 |
| Court reporter: appearance, transcript, copies | Quoted by the reporter |
| Videographer, if needed | Quoted by the videographer |
| Parking | Set by the building or garage |
Paying is by card at checkout, and the booking is confirmed the moment the payment goes through. Room bookings and extra services are charged by Same Day LLC, the operating company behind Depo Pros; court reporters and videographers bill you directly.
