A professional video record, when the transcript isn't enough.
For video depositions — impeachment clips, unavailable witnesses, trial presentation — we refer certified legal videographers. Several of the court reporters we work with also record video; when you need a dedicated, certified operator, we refer a separately certified videographer.
What “certified” means here
Two credentials are recognized nationally. We name them so you can check.
Administered by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA). Covers Federal Rules of Civil Procedure compliance, on-the-record procedure, synchronization and equipment standards.
A comparable certification with its own training and code of standards for deposition and courtroom video.
Included in a typical engagement
- Broadcast-quality camera, lighting and lavalier audio
- On-the-record read-ins, breaks and time stamps per FRCP 30(b)(5)
- Synchronized video-to-transcript files for trial presentation
- Same-day rough MP4 available on request
- Remote / hybrid deposition recording (Zoom) with a backup local record
Video depositions work best in a Large Deposition Room, which has space for the camera, lighting and a second monitor without crowding counsel.
Videographers are independent contractors who quote and bill you directly. Depo Pros doesn't mark up or bill for videography.
